My fishing companion and I had a very successful day fishing Beat 2 on the North Platte on September 30. Following the advice of a local fisherman we ran into who has been fishing the upper North Platte his entire life, we fished exclusively with an assortment of streamers such as the Rusty Trombone, Goldie, Platte River Spider and Micro Dungeon. They all worked well for us.
Rarewaters very generously accomodated us for a raincheck date on Day 2 as cold rainy weather set in. All in all, an excellent experience with great fishing and great customer service. We look forward to fishing the North Platte again soon.
Excellent day! Property Manager and fly shop in Carbondale were super helpful.
It was a Creek day! I lost count, big healthy bows / cutbows eating hoppers. Started with a dry / dropper rig and ultimately just stayed with a hopper to hug the banks. Tan / Purple and Pink were the go to colors.
Was on the Fork for less than an hour, more to cool off. The Creek sight fishing was too much fun.
Fished this with a group of anglers during the weekend of 9/17/22. Beautiful stretch of water, genuinely picturesque and very well kept. Though we heard/read that the water was much lower in comparison than previous years, our group had a great luck finding and catching multiple fish (mostly nymphing with small/dark flies). Very private too - in two days on the river, I think I only saw one other person on the river that wasn't part of our group. I would gladly fish this again!
Owner was very accommodating and helpful. Stream was smaller than I expected from the listing. Fish were small but actively feeding. Beautiful site. Access was easy. It would have been helpful to know that the back section of the ranch was unavailable after September 1 prior to booking
