Great day on the water June 21. Intermittent hatches all afternoon made the dry fly action a lot of fun. Late day brought the big ones up from the pools to take dries too. Saw a couple of browns but the hook-ups were all rainbows. I even picked up the rainbow with the broken nose in the property description photos. I attached my pic in case it enters me in some sort of raffle .
Super easy access and the instructions are clear. You can hear trucks on Hwy 34 so if solitude is what you’re after this may not be your first choice. But, hey, it’s the colorado river…there’s traffic.
Overall great experience. Property owners have a good set-up.
Great location, beautiful ranch! The water was a little high and the shoreline access was limited in the lower section due to that but we fished the upper section with steamers and landed some really nice browns! Had a flash from a fish that was over 20”! When the water drops, I’ll be heading back!
My son and I fished this property June 1, 2021. We caught lot's of 10 - 14 inch Browns tight line nymphing. Downstream from the parking area restoration work has been done and the result is some nice runs and glides that were fun to fish. Upstream from the parking area you'll find some nice pocket water. If you like fishing smaller water this property is a good option. Beautiful location just outside of Salida and perfect for 1 - 2 anglers.
Absolutely Amazing!!! We had a fabulous time fishing and camping at this ranch. You couldn’t ask for a better host either. The rivers, creeks, and ponds hold plenty of fish. Do yourself a favor; take the time to camp a day or two if you’re going. We will for sure be back.
Late April visit to this secluded stretch of the Colorado River. Active cattle ranch, with some curious calves which made it interesting. Found fish in both the Rock Crk tributary and the Colorado. About 25 fish to the net between two of us, rainbows and browns in 12-20" range. Nymph rigs, with black stones, zebra and rainbow warrior midges accounting for most of the production. Navigating around the cattle fences can be challenging, especially mid-property where wading in current is required, so be careful.
