Enjoy a 1/2 mile of fishing on the Gold medal waters of the Arkansas River. This property is near Texas Creek, CO, and just 30 minutes from Canon City.
Here you will find Rainbows and Browns, and a Caddis hatch that is prolific in the spring. During the summer and fall the dry fly and streamer action is not to be missed. Streamers and nymphs do exceptionally well when the river is high due to recent rain or runoff. This part of the Arkansas River is one of the 8 best trout rivers in the state. Be sure to glance up and around at your surroundings as there are 100 species of birds that inhabit this area, as well as, elk, deer, and bighorn sheep.
The majority of this property offers easy access with a footbridge to access both sides of the river. Near the campground, the bank has moderately easy river access as the bank is steep. Want to make a long weekend or week out of it? Camping is permitted here.
Although we typically get your booking approved within a few hours, please allow up to 1 business day for booking confirmations.
Camping prices are per vehicle/per day. Camping is in a designated campsite on this property. Most camping is tent camping only, you will park and need to walk about 400 yards over a bridge to the camping area. Trailers/Vans/Truck Campers have to be approved first before booking as space is limited. There are restrooms and potable water available.

Most of our properties are ranches, so expect to walk through hayfields, cow fields, or even hop a few fences. These are not "groomed" properties. They can be rugged and wild and we believe that is part of the adventure with RareWaters! If you have specific questions or concerns, please reach out in advance of booking a trip!

September 10, 2023 at 8:24 pmTale of two days, but that’s fishing! Arrived in evening with my campervan and host Gavin was awesome, got us directed to the site and pointed us to a great spot and we immediately began catching fish in the late day sun and kept up until
Helpful Review 1we couldn’t see. Dry dropper (chubby Chernobyl with stone fly and RS2 droppers) and caddis dries. Average size was 16 inches so pretty quality fish! Next day was hot, like real hot. Couldn’t get a fish in the net for hours then it broke a little bit. Should have tried streamers. Evening it started to come back around but nothing like the first night. Even returned to the same spots at the same time on evening two. Water was fairly clear and the scenery was awesome. Campground was just OK (older and a bit run down) but did have access to showers and toilets so that was a bonus.
