“Great property. Hooked into a good number of 16-18in Browns and Rainbows in the riffles. Great property, landowner was friendly and helpful.”

Discover a serene 1.5-mile stretch of the Colorado River near Glenwood Springs, Colorado, with breathtaking views of the Grand Hogback.
Despite being close to I-70, the road’s sights and sounds won’t disrupt your fishing experience. Eagles’ nests adorn the property, adding to the natural beauty and wildlife sightings while you fish.
The river is very approachable throughout the property, revealing a tapestry of long runs and inviting pockets lining the bank. You can expect to catch brown trout and rainbow trout in the 14-18″ range on average and this river holds the promise of hooking truly large fish, adding an element of excitement to every cast.
The trails from parking locations are fairly flat and easily navigable. Depending on the water flow, you may find yourself wading along sandy banks or gravel beds, varying in size from 4 to 12 inches. The upper section ensures easy wading access, while downstream, the banks present a steeper challenge before mellowing out in the lower section. Don’t hesitate to explore the middle section, despite its steeper banks, as you can still walk or wade into the river. There are some really nice long runs on this property perfect for swinging flies.

August 24, 2023 at 8:53 pmThe scenery was on point!
I saw multiple Eagles on the property and a few deer late in the day. The parking was easy to find. The grass was a bit tall on the trails to the river but we have had a ton of rain this year. The river was super easy to navigate even with high water. The upper section of the property had some decent structure. I was able to pull a few nice browns out on a nymph rig. I continued downstream near the middle of the property and was greeted by a group of geese who did not help my cause. I did make it down to the lower section and brought a few more to the net.
Overall a great day! I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of road noise from I70 even though the property sits right alongside it. The view on the opposite bank was so cool.
