Overview

This historic cattle ranch was founded in 1868. It has been in the family for 7 generations and still runs an active cattle operation. Enjoy just over one mile of the Little Arkansas River which has had river restoration work completed over the past several years. The average brown trout will be around 12″ but a few big fish in the 14-18″ range linger in the deeper holes. Please do not try and pet the calves. Their mothers are very protective. River access is easy for people of all ages.

Please allow up to 2 business days for booking confirmations.

Due to livestock and other concerns, dogs and other pets are NOT permitted on this property.

Camping prices are per person/per day. Camping is dispersed camping. Please practice “leave no trace” principles and pack out all trash. You will need to supply your own water.  No open fires allowed.

Great day on this property. Super easy drive from Salida and to navigate once there. Met the owner and his daughter. Awesome people. Fun stretch of water. Took my 6yr old son. We were on hungry browns all day. Definitely will go back.

Great stream lot of pools and fish habitat. 13 or so catches, all browns with one fat 15” bow. All on top with small hopper. Enjoyed the day.

Great place to spend a morning fishing! Water was a little low due to late august, but still a nice stretch of river with some good trout habitat. Finally found a 14 in brown tucked under a waterfall a rock near a water fall. Owners checked in and were very nice and I would recommend for sure!

It’s simple. You just pay as you book. Anyone can book our locations! Property access starts at $125 per angler per day. Subscriptions aren’t required but Cutthroat subscribers enjoy perks like $25 off every booking and river reports for each trip. Spend more time on the water and let us worry about the rest!

Landowners have at least 1/2 mile of river, stream or creek running through their property. Each property is vetted by RareWaters staff to ensure a premium fly fishing experience.

Right now, we’re focused on the Western United States. But don’t worry, we plan to list properties in other states soon. Our goal is to provide you with new water access no matter where you’re traveling.

We offer subscriptions to all anglers. Subscriptions offer anglers discounted rod fees, priority booking and more. $25 of every subscription is donated to Trout Unlimited, our partners in conservation.

After we receive your payment, RareWaters sends anglers a detailed property map including directions and GPS coordinates. We strongly encourage all anglers to save the GPS coordinates into their smartphones before leaving cell service. Google Maps is our preferred app for directions.
