September 1, 2023 at 10:02 amSouth Fork of the South Platte River is an excellent fishery that clearly doesn’t get much pressure. I caught a stud 17inch brown in the first hole I fished, followed by almost 10 other fish to the net within the first couple hours. The banks are a bit overgrown and have thistles amongst them, so wading with pants and boots was definitely a must. As the day got hotter, fishing slowed down a bit and so we went and had a break by the car in some awesome adirondak chairs overlooking the beautiful scenery.

August 31, 2023 at 5:16 pmFishing was great, caught a 17” brown on a dry fly in the hole just down river from the barn. The hole at the old wood bridge was full of fish. Confluence hole was also full of fish. water was a little off color but fished really well on a dry dropper.

August 9, 2023 at 3:59 pmHi John,
Helpful ReviewSorry to hear that even after we switched the dates the river was still blown out. This rain has made for quite an eventful and tricky fishing season. Thanks for the kind words.
