Overview

This ranch is renowned for being one of the premier fly fishing properties in the state of Colorado. Only a short drive from Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, Basalt and Aspen, anglers can access several ponds, 1.5 miles of spring fed creeks and nearly 1 mile of the Roaring Fork River. Fly anglers, whether seasoned or new to the sport, will have great opportunities to land quality trout, enjoy breathtaking views and make many memories. Fish range 14″-22″ and can be caught on dry and nymph rigs depending on the time of year.

The landowner has invested countless time and resources into building and constructing ideal trout habitat throughout the watersheds. This has allowed various trout species to flourish, reach trophy size and provide an excellent angling experience. Proper fish handling, angler etiquette, sportsmanship and catch and release fishing also contribute to the success of the fishery.

Excellent day! Property Manager and fly shop in Carbondale were super helpful.

It was a Creek day! I lost count, big healthy bows / cutbows eating hoppers. Started with a dry / dropper rig and ultimately just stayed with a hopper to hug the banks. Tan / Purple and Pink were the go to colors.

Was on the Fork for less than an hour, more to cool off. The Creek sight fishing was too much fun.

    Really enjoyable property.

We fished this property with 3 anglers and had it to ourselves. We caught several fish well over 20 inches. It was one of the best places we fished all week. The fly shop where you pick up your fishing tags was very helpful in setting us up for a successful day. DO NOT FISH WITH LESS THAN 4 LB TEST you will break off. Can’t wait to get back!

We had a wonderful time at this property! It was easy to get to as well easy to fish. We were the only two people fishing the property, so we had it entirely to ourselves. We fished the two spring creeks, the river, and the small lakes. The habitat is wonderful and the water supports a very healthy population of large trout. It was hard to leave at the end of the day!

Right now, we’re focused on the Western United States. But don’t worry, we plan to list properties in other states soon. Our goal is to provide you with new water access no matter where you’re traveling.

We offer subscriptions to all anglers. Subscriptions offer anglers discounted rod fees, priority booking and more. $25 of every subscription is donated to Trout Unlimited, our partners in conservation.

After we receive your payment, RareWaters sends anglers a detailed property map including directions and GPS coordinates. We strongly encourage all anglers to save the GPS coordinates into their smartphones before leaving cell service. Google Maps is our preferred app for directions.
